Heather Duplaisir has a Master’s of Science in Recreation from San Francisco State University where her focus was on sustainable tourism. Her Masters project researched socially responsible tourism on a November 2013 tour with Amazon Watch in the Ecuadorian Amazon. She has worked for several sustainable tour organizations around the Bay Area, and has led and managed tours around California and Washington D.C. Heather has an Outdoor Educator Certification from the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) which she achieved by backpacking and white water canoeing through the Canadian Wilderness while learning leadership skills. She is also a lead author of a textbook on sustainable tourism, The Good Company: Sustainability in Hospitality, Tourism and Wine (September, 2015).
