Cuba | Solidarity and Socialism In Cuba: Anti-Imperialism Conference in Havana

Journey Dates: October 29 - November 5, 2019 Trip Availability: CLOSED

Tour Sponsor: Progressive Caucus of the California Democratic Party

In response to the call for the Anti-Imperialist Hemispheric Conference of Solidarity, for Democracy and against Neoliberalism, Zach Denney, At-Large Officer of the Progressive Caucus of the California Democratic Party, invites progressives, organizers, activists and others from various intersectional movements and struggles to join in attending this one-week delegation to the conference in Havana, Cuba. We will participate in exchanges with the Cuban people and with various artist, civil society, health and education groups, and visit historic sights and museums.

We are living in a time where right-wing anti-Democratic leaders and movements are growing in the Western Hemisphere, from Trump in the United States to Bolsonaro in Brazil. Leaders and members of progressive movements and struggles throughout the Americas must come together and stand for solidarity, democracy, and against threats to both. This delegation is an opportunity to connect with activists and leaders from throughout the Americas and to see up close and personal the effects of the failed embargo against Cuba, and six decades of resistance by the Cuban people to US imperialism.
