Mexico | The Mayan Riviera Sacred Healers Tour

Journey Dates: November 3-12, 2024 Trip Availability: CLOSED
Tour Sponsor: Kathleen Scacciaferro

Our Sacred Healers Tour to Mexico includes lectures, discussions, meditations, experiential learning with indigenous healers, cultural immersion, and daily self-care practices in a cross-cultural context, where participants explore optimal health care practices for themselves and others.

We will visit the Ek Balam and Chitchen Itza archaeological sites, and learn about the incredible history of the Maya. From there, we’ll visit the Parque Apícola Xlopek to learn about local melipona beekeeping, and exchange with the Chulután community for an intimate conversation with traditional Mayan médicos. Then we head to Tulum, visiting archaeological sites as well as meeting with community leaders to hear about the impacts of tourism and gentrification in the Yucatán. From Tulum, we head to Isla de Mujeres. We will participate in a Temazcal ceremony, visit a medicine garden, and learn about sacred symbology.

Our journey will include yoga, swimming in multiple cenotes, an exchange with a community health center, cooking and jewelry-making classes, a visit to a monkey sanctuary, and time in the sea. Please join us as we focus on healing, history, and ethical travel on this journey to the Riviera Maya.
