Each year Ethical Traveler reviews the policies and practices of hundreds of nations in the developing world to determine the ten countries that are doing the most impressive job of promoting human rights, preserving the environment and supporting social welfare—all while creating a lively, community-based tourism industry.

A reception honoring this year’s winners will take place on Sunday, March 6, 2016. (See below for details).
