Pilgrimage to Bhutan with Michelle and Joel Levey!

This special adventure to the magical remote Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan will unfold in the spirit of sacred pilgrimage. Sacred pilgrimage opens our hearts and minds to deeper wisdom, wonder, responsive compassion, and spiritual development in dedication to the greater good. Bhutan is governed and guided by the sacred view and altruistic values of the Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhist traditions, the Bodhisattva spirit of wisdom and universal compassion, and the guiding national values of Gross National Happiness, and truly shines as a beacon of inspiration and possibility for people and nations around the world. While most travelers to Bhutan stay close to Thimphu and Paro, our pilgrimage offers a rare opportunity to journey deeper into the sacred Bumthang Valley, the spiritual heartland of Bhutan, renowned for its natural beauty, cultural richness, and deep mystical traditions. Our beloved guide, Dorji, has decades of experience and his warmth and care will open many doors and hearts for us along The Way. He has worked with us on all of our previous pilgrimage adventures. We’ll be blessed to share daily meditations and reflections, beautiful hikes and landscapes, immersion in awesome sacred art, music, dance, sculpture, and architecture, and times of integrative reflection on the gifts and learnings of our inner-outer journey through this sacred land.

This journey is currently full, but offering a WAITLIST. To join the waitlist, please email journeys@altruvistas.com.

About Joel and Michelle Levey:

Joel and Michelle Levey offer a profound introduction to Bhutan and its sacred traditions inspired by over 50 years of studying the wisdom teachings of Bhutan and Tibet. They have a deep love for Bhutan, its wise, kind-hearted people, and ancient ecoDharma-inspired traditions. The Leveys are respected pioneers with decades of deep study, practice, and research in the fields of contemplative science, comparative mysticism, intuitive intelligence, collective wisdom, and extraordinary human potential. The Dalai Lama, an advisor on several of the Leveys’ projects, encouraged them, saying: “You are presently engaged in work that has great prospects for bringing the Dharma to a very wide section of people who may not under ordinary circumstances come into contact with these teachings.” They’ve served as faculty for the University of Minnesota Medical School, Bastyr Naturopathic University, Mahidol University in Thailand, and the Indian Institute of Management, and have worked with leaders and teams from many organizations, including NASA, Google, the British Parliament, M.D. Anderson Cancer Research Center, the World Bank, the NOAA, Stanford Research Institute International, the U.S. Surgeon General’s Office, MIT, and the World Business Academy. This will be their fourth trip to Bhutan. Learn more at http://WisdomAtWork.com/MindfulnessPioneers/

About Bodhi Tree EcoDharma Sanctuary

Bodhi Tree EcoDharma Sanctuary is a non-profit founded and stewarded by the Leveys. The sanctuary offers refuge and inspiration for personal and community renewal and transformation in the spirit of the Dharma, and is aligned with the ideals of the Bodhisattva way of life, as well as with the sacred view inspired by indigenous-Earth-based natural Dharma wisdom traditions. We host gatherings, spiritual retreats, and pilgrimages with people aspiring to cultivate an open mind, kindful heart, and altruistic way of being. Inspired by the Dharma wisdom of modern and ancient contemplative sciences, our most treasured reference is the “Holy Book of Nature.” Our programs illuminate contemplative practices that awaken new dimensions of insight into a vast, all-encompassing, realistic “view” and experience of interbeing/interdependence, empathic resonance, and courageous responsive compassion, for the benefit of all)))
