Cuba | Carlota's Warriors for Cuba: Cuban Afrofeminist Colloquium

Journey Dates: July 22-29, 2026 Trip Availability: OPEN by invitation
Tour Sponsor: Rosemari Mealy

This solidarity Support for the Cuban People delegation is being organized during a critical time for the Cuban people, who are experiencing significant economic and social challenges. These difficulties stem from 66 years of a US blockade, which is widely opposed and regarded as illegal and criminal, and have been intensified by an additional, comprehensive oil blockade that has persisted for months.

We warmly invite you to join us on this journey and participate in a week filled with events, meetings, and cultural activities organized by the 5th Conference of The Cuban Afrofeminist Articulation. This remarkable gathering has been arranged to showcase and highlight the collective work of Cuban women and feminist groups from a variety of currents. Together, they are united in their ongoing fight against racism and patriarchy.

Throughout the conference, attendees will witness numerous examples of creative manifestations that demonstrate the efforts of these groups. The activities and cultural expressions on display serve as powerful illustrations of how Cuban women and feminist organizations are advancing their struggle for equality and justice, making visible the diverse and innovative ways they confront racism and patriarchal structures in advancing a Socialist society.

This delegation offers an opportunity to learn firsthand why it is important to see Cuba through your own eyes, especially in light of the aggressive US anti-Cuba propaganda. This propaganda war is supporting regime change threats against Cuba, with increased activity on social media platforms such as reels and posts. These initiatives are not only driven by the far-right but also by US Black pseudo-left influencers who claim that Cuba is an anti-Black society. They assert that the Communist Party leadership and socialism/communism perpetuate structural racism and anti-Blackness. By participating in the delegation, you will be able to form your own perspective based on direct experiences engaging with those who are directly defending themselves and their country rather than external narratives.

When you return, we encourage you to share your experiences and provide accurate information about Cuba with your organizations and others who may benefit from your journey, especially the false narrative that Cuba is an anti-Black Socialist State.

By recounting your firsthand experiences, you help foster a better understanding of the realities in Cuba, countering misinformation and providing valuable perspectives. Your insights can contribute to broader awareness within your community, ensuring that more people receive authentic and truthful accounts of Cuban society and the ongoing struggles faced by its people. Sharing your journey will not only inform others but will contribute to the ongoing efforts that call for an end to the US Blockade and removal of Cuba from the State Sponsors of Terrorist List (SSTL).
