Our journey to Cuba begins in Havana, where we will take a walking tour of Old Havana and receive a historical overview of Cuba. We’ll visit and exchange with the Museum of the Revolution and the MLK Center. We’ll visit MINED–the Ministry of Education, the Literacy Museum, ELAM–the Latin American Medical School, the National School of Ballet, and exchange with local photographers and filmmakers. We’ll learn about Santeria, and visit Muraleando (a community arts project) and FANJ (a sustainability initiative). We’ll travel to Regla and exchange with members of the hip-hop community. Along the way, we’ll swim and visit crafts markets.
