Join Dr. Pavlina Latkova for this eco-tour of beautiful Costa Rica! Dr. Latkova is a San Francisco State Recreation, Parks, and Tourism professor with decades of experience leading educational journeys. You don’t need to be affiliated with SFSU to join this trip! We’ll meet with professors, biologists, geographers, and folks running a coffee cooperative. In Tortuguero National Park, we’ll meet with scientists and take a rowboat tour through the Tortuguero canals to observe birds. We’ll visit with SEE Turtles, a turtle conservation group; do a community service-learning project with local elementary school; and take a guided night hike. Snorkeling, sea kayaking, and meeting with Caribbean culture experts and a women’s group round out our incredible journey!

Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. -Mark Twain
