Uganda | Expedition to the Source of the Nile
On this engaging tour connecting with communities across diverse and beautiful regions of Uganda, we travel on a humanitarian journey exploring history, land, and tribal settlements while under the wings of local non-profit organizations (NGOs).
We begin our journey stepping into the footprints of ancient kingdoms that once ruled Uganda. In the vibrant city of Kampala, which occupies a series of hills at an elevation of about 3900 feet, we explore its cultural diversities and imposing tribal heritage. We then embark on a road trip to the northern parts of Uganda aboard our private vehicle. In Gulu, also known as the land of the ethnic Acholi, we embed into an educational and cultural experience where we meet with several local NGOs inside the Internal Displaced People camp, where thousands of children were rescued from rebel groups. Listening to personal stories and exploring deep inside the community, we learn about the process of humanitarian work. We continue our expedition through Murchison Falls National Park, opening our path to the Nile River and its magnificent biodiversity, setting on a closer encounter with the wildlife.
This expeditionary journey opens the door to both the humanitarian field and the rich culture of East Africa from a very visual experience, presenting a long list of photographic opportunities for devoted travelers and photographers alike. Optional tutoring on storytelling and compositional skills is always available from our tour leader Beb REYNOL, an expert explorer and photojournalist.
