All of Rebecca’s personal and professional pursuits have been motivated by a desire to explore the people, places and cultures of the world.  In additional to working as an associate for Altruvistas, Rebecca serves as a communications consultant for architects, designers and sustainably-minded companies, developing and implementing strategic PR, social media, events and marketing campaigns.  Before moving to the Bay Area, Rebecca was a Development Assistant at the Earth Institute at Columbia University where she worked on CSR programs and events and contributed to the Institute’s State of the Planet blog. Prior to that, Rebecca worked in the commitments department of the Clinton Global Initiative where she worked with constituents ranging from small nonprofits to Fortune 500 companies to write and develop Commitments to Action and provided logistical support for CGI’s conferences. Rebecca has worked in the communications and outreach departments of numerous prominent NGOs including the Council of the Americas in New York and the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington. She has also served as an editor for Atlantic-Community.org in Berlin, Germany and as a research assistant for Bloom Microventures, a start-up sustainable tourism organization. Rebecca holds a BA in Political Communications with a minor in Marketing and PR from Emerson College. She spent her junior year studying abroad at the University of Cape Town, South Africa and volunteering with youth in the city’s townships.
